AVAILABLE Posh 2 bedroom condo in the heart of San Telmo
$600/wk or $1400/mo or $1200/mo for 3 or more months

Spectacular, spacious 2BR (3 whole floors)

Welcome!

The place is only considered reserved after a deposit is received, because we have no way of knowing how serious anyone is until a reserve is placed. A deposit equal to 1 months rent is required in order to guarantee the place. This reserves the apartment for the dates agreed upon and acts as a damage deposit after you arrive. The deposit is returned (minus any charges for damages or unpaid rent) within 30 days of the end of the rental period. Rent in full is paid upon or before move-in. However, for extended (ie multi-month) stays rent is paid monthly with first and last months rent paid in advance. Booking at least a month out is recommended for securing the really good spots in San Telmo especially during the warmer months (aprox Sept-April). However, cheaper ones, especially outside of San Telmo can be found about anytime.

I am usually in Champaign-Urbana, IL where UIUC is, so initial payment can be made in any manner here in the States. ie via credit card (through a Paypal invoice) or online bank check or regular bank check through US Mail. Once you indicate you want the place and dates are confirmed I can send an invoice, either through Paypal or just a word document via email. Paypal takes a fee which we pass on to the client via a 5% markup of any payment, so the cheapest method is a plain bank check. However, some clients prefer Paypal for at least the initial reservation for two reasons: 1) Paypal is immediate - you can confirm your reservation without the delay of a mailed check and 2) Paypal provides insurance and a route for arbitration.

I prefer email for first contact (casamartirano AT gmail.com) but as well I can be reached via cell at 312.834.3605.

It is a great apartment, as it is our family's vacation spot. We payed a premium for location, light, layout, a modern kitchen, patio, terraza, etc. If you are familiar with San Telmo you might know Bolivar and Chile is 1.5 blocks off of Defensa, the major artery through this historic neighborhood. Also a good friend of the family, Graciela Sandoval, lives just a few blocks away and she manages the place for us very dependably, efficiently and promptly (uncommon features in Buenos Aires;). She speaks very little english but she manages to communicate with people quite well and I actually learned spanish while living with her in San Telmo. She is incredibly friendly and helpful both in terms of anything related to the apartment but also in terms of having a local on hand to help with other aspects of your stay.

It is certainly located well within what I would consider the very safe part of the city and close to main arteries such as Independencia, Defensa, Paseo Colon. As well, the place has a multi-zone alarm system. The house is in a smaller building that has been subdivided such that, instead of a vertical subdivision in a hi-rise, each apartment claims its own footprint, has its own ground-floor entrance and 1-3 stories built up. The neighbors are very friendly as well and the place is surprisingly quiet even though the building is 1 block from a zone which bustles all night long with restaurants, bars, night-clubs, shows, live music and of course tango.

Saludos,

John Martirano

A note from a previous tenant:
Gra was one of the best parts about living there. In Buenos Aires I've lived in places and had friends who can't get hot water fixed for days/weeks, or who don't even know who to call when something goes wrong. Gra is the best apartment manager I've ever had, and I've lived in a LOT of places. You should let people know there is someone who will be always accessible and willing to do just about anything to make them comfortable-- it's a hard find down here! - Danny
